Three years ago, Annastasia Mason’s life changed in an instant. A hoverboard fall left her with a traumatic head injury, neurological damage, extensive dental injuries, and a year without being able to drive. But the physical injuries? Those weren’t even the hardest part.
“It wasn’t just about how I looked,” Mason has said. “It was about who I thought I was.”
For someone who had spent years in the public eye, the woman staring back at her in the mirror suddenly felt like a stranger. The accident didn’t just break physical aspects of her body and mind— it shattered her sense of identity.
The Comeback That Changed Everything
Fast-forward to today, and Mason isn’t just recovered. She’s thriving. However, she admits to having much father to go. Her dental injuries are still very much in need of being fully restored. It is her goal to make that happen one day and dollar at a time. The newly crowned Ms. Universe® 2025/2026 is now the Executive Director of Universe International®, the global organization behind Mrs. Universe®, Miss Teen Universe®, Mr. Universe®, and more pageant systems.
And she’s not just wearing the crown — she’s changing what it stands for. Under Mason’s leadership, the pageant world is getting a major upgrade. She’s shifting the focus from outdated stereotypes to substance, advocacy, and real diversity. Her mantra? “Beauty is Universal®” and she means it. “Visibility without purpose is just noise,” she says. Translation: the crown isn’t about looking perfect. It’s about using your voice and the incredible opportunity that wearing that crown grants.
Turning Trauma Into a Movement
Beyond pageantry, Mason founded Positively You™ Empowerment Studio, a platform dedicated to helping women heal from trauma and rebuild their self-worth. Her flagship course, Beauty From Ashes©, is built on one powerful principle: what broke you doesn’t get to define you.
With a background in art education and psychology, Mason understands how our identities are shaped — and how we can reshape them. “Empowerment isn’t about pretending nothing happened,” she explains. “It’s about telling the truth — and choosing not to live under it.”
She’s refreshingly honest about her own struggles, failures, and detours. Not for drama, but to remind women that strength isn’t about never falling. It’s about getting back up.
What’s Next? Everything.
Halfway through her reign, Mason is already taking her mission global. Think empowerment retreats in Italy, France and many other countries, collaborations with international designers, new magazine launches, and a beauty brand debuting during major fashion weeks as well as being a brand ambassador for a wellness company and a fave for change.
Every project follows the same philosophy: outer beauty as a path to inner healing.
“The crown is just a microphone,” she says. “What matters is what you say through it and how you embrace the changes you can make as well as the help you can offer others”
Kindness Is Her Superpower
At the heart of everything Mason does is a simple but radical belief: kindness matters. Her motto, “Kindness is Queen™,” reflects her refusal to let trauma turn her bitter.
“I want women to stop bargaining with their self doubt,” she says. “To wake up and say, ‘Not today.'” She includes herself in this mission.
That kind of directness — born from lived experience, not theory — has made her a beacon for women navigating their own broken chapters.
The Real Glow-Up
Annastasia Mason’s story isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about becoming someone new, reinventing a broken narrative and transforming how she sees herself from the inside out.
